Losing an Almost-Relationship
Dear Bitter Single Guy: I have been in love with a girl I know for over a year now. We have been friends for a while, and even been out on a couple of "dates". She seemed to have feelings for me, but now she's with someone else. I'm very confused and heartbroken right now. I need to know if I should wait for her or attempt to move on? A good friend of mine thinks I should do whatever I can to forget about her, but it's been very, very difficult. Any suggestions? - Please Pass the Angst
Dear PPA: You keep the Bitter Single Guy young, you know that? No matter how many years the BSG doles out the advice, he never tires of being the balm to sooth the pain of the lovelorn. PPA, the BSG hears you and feels your pain and it is with true affection and understanding that he tells you to get the hell over it.
She seemed to have feelings for you? Now she's gone off with someone else even though you've had "dates"? Really? Holy mackerel, PPA what more information do you need here? This doesn't even have the appearance of an actual relationship, which just makes it a silly crush. The BSG is pleased that you have at least one friend who is counseling you to get over her. Your friend is not seeing this through sad-but-hopeful puppy dog eyes. This could only be over if it ever was something and the BSG doesn't see it. Ride on, cowboy.
