She's Just Not That Into Him

 Dear Bitter Single Guy: I have been out with a girl 4 times and have bought her dinner each time. Last week we had a date to go out which we arranged some time ago, she phoned me the evening we were supposed to go out, tells me she can't make it, offers no explanation, and does not offer to reschedule! Dear JWD: The Bitter Single Guy just couldn't let your letter go unanswered. What a spectacular opportunity to provide the other side of the coin for women who have been devotees of that recent publication "He's Just Not That Into You". The Bitter Single Guy has heard that apparently this book helps women understand that when men send mixed messages and act all cagey and stuff, that he's Just Not Into Them (hence the title). The BSG loves to live in a world where money can be had simply by telling people what they should already know.

JWD, you wonder where you've gone wrong and wonder also why women are so unreliable. First, of course, women aren't so unreliable. The BSG recognizes this as a frustrated rhetorical question so he'll leave it alone (at least one of his readers is seething at this comment, so that's plenty in the BSG's eyes). Your other question considers what your part in this could be. The BSG will guess that you're not specifically to blame, but simply that (you all saw this coming) She's Just Not That Into You. It happens, get over it. Of course, if this is happening to you regularly, you should begin to question yourself. Remember that you are the common denominator in all your failed relationships.
